St. Nicholas Jumping Into Air By Theodore E. Boyd, A Visit from St. Nicholas, 1848
One of the most iconic depictions of St. Nick
One of the other illustrations by Theodore E. Boyd in the 1848 version of “A Visit from St. Nicholas”, St. Nick jumping into the air for no apparent reason, has become one of the most iconic depictions of St. Nick even though it does not look like either the character described in Moore’s poem or our modern vision of Santa.
